Metier Consulting is headed up by Darryll Ashworth the Executive Director. Darryll has nearly 20 years experience in both the United Kingdom and Australian markets. He has worked on some of the most significant retail developments on the landscape, and brings detailed understanding and knowledge on how to deliver successful "Major" projects. Before establishing Metier Consulting, Darryll was State Leasing Manager (WA) Westfield, responsibilities for Carousel (82,000sqm), Galleria (78,000sqm), Innaloo (28,000sqm). Additionally, for 12 months undertook a detailed review of the majority of Westfield Shopping Centres in Australia, together with an analysis of the Asian market particularly Kuala Lumpur. Prior to this Senior Executive position with Westfield, Darryll worked on some of Westfield’s major developments as a Leasing Executive. Projects included: Leasing Executive Westfield Carousel This was a major redevelopment of the centre creating 240 new tenancies; responsibilities were for the leasing of the centre within a team, from the start to the finish of the project (2 years). Leasing Manager Karrinyup Shopping Centre - (55,000sqm Regional) Responsible for the lease renewals and new leasing in order to reposition this Regional Shopping Centre. Centre owned by AMP Global Henderson Investors. State Leasing Manager (WA) Jones Lang Wootton Responsibilities for; Mirrabooka Square, Rockingham City, Armadale City, Forrest Chase, Melville Plaza, Currambine Marketplace, Claremont Arcade and Wanneroo Central. Also responsible for the development of Bulky Goods Retail projects.
Kym has 17 years of commercial property experience with the last nine years specializing in retail leasing and management. Lease Equity Pty Ltd – Founder/Director of Leasing Prior to joining Metier Consulting, Kym was a Partner in Lease Equity Pty Ltd, a specialized retail leasing and management business. Kym’s primary focus as Director of Leasing was to control the project and retail leasing functions of Lease Equity. This included overseeing 7 staff and annually, Lease Equity transacted over 200 leasing deals representing in excess of $15,000,000 of gross rental per annum. Kym personally has transacted over 60 leasing deals per annum, representing in excess of $6,000,000 of gross rental per annum. The major retail projects Kym was directly responsible for leasing is as follows:
Kym was also over seeing Lease Equity’s involvement for Perron Group on Belmont Forum and Mirrabooka Square Shopping Centres, along with the maintenance leasing function of over 17 shopping centres in the management portfolio. Westfield Shopping Centres Kym oversaw the maintenance leasing of the three Western Australian assets being Westfield Carousel, Westfield Galleria and Westfield Innaloo. Kym was responsible for retail planning, master planning and centre budgeting together with income delivery. This role required Kym to oversee an annual rental budget of over $9,500,000 derived from in excess of 600 retailers, which included over 200 transactions in the period of his employment including new lettings, rent reviews and relocations. The role required a highly disciplined, output oriented and budget focused approach. Garden City Shopping Centre – AMP Kym was engaged directly by AMP to oversee the leasing of the $110 million redevelopment of the Garden City Shopping Centre, Booragoon. The role included controlling the full retail mix and income delivery of the project including initial feasibility and roll-out of strategy. The role required Kym to head the WA Project Leasing Office comprising six staff. He was also responsible for the tenancy delivery program and oversaw the contract project management company responsible for the project’s delivery. The project was an outstanding success with Kym being individually responsible for delivering over 120 specialty and mini-major tenancies, of the 200 shop extension. This included the relocation of 35 existing specialty tenancies. Part of this success was the personal delivery of an additional $1,200,000 of the net income above feasibility. This was achieved within the capital expenditure budget.
